Bodegas Jalón History
First of all, we would like to talk about their history. Founded in 1960, Bodegas Jalón boasts a rich heritage that is reflected in every sip of its exquisite wines. From crisp whites to bold reds and their famous Muscat wine, each bottle is a testament to the winemakers’ dedication and experience. Initially collecting winery material from the partners themselves, presses, tanks, barrels. Over the years the winery has adapted to new technologies.
About their grapes…
After this bit of history, it is time for their magical ingredient: The Grapes. The grapes for their red wines come from vineyards located in the highlands around Bodegas Jalon, as well as the Bernia mountain range, Cau, Planises and Maserof.
Malvarrosa wines are made with grapes from medium-altitude lands located in Alcalalí, Pasulas, Cutes and Solanas. Lastly, the softer wines are made with grapes from lower lands such as Pla de Lliber. All of these locations are less than 10 km from the winery.
The Tour & Wine Tasting
During the guided tour of Bodegas Jalon, you will learn about both the facilities and the process of making their wines, mistelas and vermouths. The price is €15 per person and lasts approximately 90 minutes. The visit is available in both Spanish and English.
Afterwards, the wine tasting begins, accompanied by some delicious sausages, cheeses and almonds.
The Experience
Finally we want to offer you more than an activity, we like incredible experiences. The guided tour of Jalon wineries is perfect to combine with a morning at the antique market that takes place every Saturday morning. At the end of the wine tasting, you can’t miss some tapas at Casa Aleluya, one of the best-known bars in Jalon. To end the day you can enjoy a delicious wine purchased from the winery on the terrace of your rental apartment. Is there any better plan than this?
